We would like to thank you for your interest in becoming a Reformed Episcopalian. Below you will find sections regarding membership within the Reformed Episcopal Church - Individuals, Clergy, and Parishes. Depending on your status, certain forms and requirements may need to be completed.
The first step for individuals is to find a Reformed Episcopal parish in your area. If there are no parishes in your vicinity, you may email the affiliation office JoinTheREC@rechurch.org for further options.Parish Directory
When you find a parish, contact the local pastor and he will be able to instruct you in the process. A Letter of Transfer from your prior parish is standard practice (if available). If you are not baptized or confirmed, the local pastor will aid you in preparations for both baptism and confirmation.
The transfer of Clergy credentials involves a process of application, examination, reception, and in some cases regularization of orders. Transfers are subject to the approval of the Diocesan Bishop and the Standing Committee. Depending on each individual's situation, other requirements may be necessary.
Below are links for the Transfer Process and Clergy Application. Please print, complete, and forward the application to Bishop Sutton's office. His contact information is on the right of this screen.
The Reformed Episcopal Church has a three-level process for parish affiliation. Throughout the stages of affiliation the Bishop in charge of the geographical area in which the parish exists will oversee the process. We offer a complete document with forms explaining the process in further detail. It may be viewed from the link below.
